1. Information we collect
We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. Chess Mela has: no account or sign-in system, no analytics or advertising SDKs, no crash-reporting or tracking technology, no servers of our own that receive your data. Game history, statistics, puzzle progress, ratings, and preferences are saved in the app's private storage on your device. Uninstalling the app removes them.
2. Purchases (Google Play Billing)
Chess Mela Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or receive your payment details, name, email address, or billing address. Google handles the transaction and the purchase-receipt verification under the Google Privacy Policy. The app stores only the fact that Pro features are unlocked on your device, so entitlement can be restored later.
3. Sharing features
When you use “Share game (PGN)” or “Share Game Story”, the app opens the standard Android share sheet with content you requested (a text record of the game, or an image generated on your device). Nothing is sent anywhere until you pick a share target yourself. Whatever app or service you share to is governed by its own privacy policy.
4. Notifications
If you opt in to the daily-puzzle reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device. No notification data is sent to or through any server. You can turn this off at any time in Settings.
5. Children's privacy
Chess Mela is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.
6. Device permissions
Notifications (Android 13+): used only for the optional daily-puzzle reminder, and only after you opt in. Receive boot completed: used only to re-schedule that same local reminder after your device restarts or the app updates. The app does not request the Internet permission. (Chess Mela Pro purchases are handled by the Google Play Store app, which has its own network access; Chess Mela itself never makes network requests.) No location, contacts, camera, microphone, or storage-scanning permissions are requested.
7. Device backup
If you use Android's built-in backup (Google Drive backup or device-to-device transfer), your game history, statistics, and settings may be copied to your own Google account by the Android operating system. This backup is under your control and Google's Google Privacy Policy — VeeIQ receives none of it. Your Chess Mela Pro entitlement is deliberately excluded from backup and is instead re-verified with Google Play after a restore.
8. Data security
Because no personal data leaves your device, the main privacy risk is limited to someone with physical access to your device. The app writes only to its own private app storage.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after changes means acceptance of the updated policy.
